👍Farming Practices Unveiled Now

Thank you so much for your interest in how we raise our animals — I'm always happy to share more about our practices.


Yes, we do follow regenerative farming methods. In the winter, we use deep bedding and/or still move the animals as needed to keep things clean and comfortable for them. Once the grass starts coming in strong, we get everyone out on pasture. Our cattle and chickens are moved daily, and pigs are rotated at least every 14 days to give the land a chance to rest and regrow.


Our animals are not vaccinated. Instead, we prioritize overall herd health by raising them in low-stress, clean environments with plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and room to move. These conditions help support strong immune systems naturally, without the need for routine shots.


The grain we use isn’t certified organic, but we source it from a local farm that keeps spraying to an absolute minimum — only applying it early in the plant’s growth, never on the seed heads like many conventional farms do. Our cows are 100% grass-fed and eat hay from our unsprayed fields. Pigs receive a limited amount of grain and are a breed known for being excellent grazers. Chickens are the most grain-dependent, but we’re currently trying a new breed that we hope will thrive on less grain without compromising on quality or flavor.



We’ve looked into certified organic feed, but unfortunately, there’s none available locally. Shipping it in would make the cost of one chicken close to $70 — not practical for most families. While we’re not using certified organic feed right now, it’s something we hope to pursue when the opportunity is right.


As a family who only eats meat from our own farm, we care deeply about what goes into our bodies. We’ve made our decisions thoughtfully — prioritizing low-stress, clean-living conditions for the animals and nutrient-dense, trustworthy food for our family and community. In our view, the occasional trace chemical in local grain is a lesser concern than the routine antibiotics, fecal dust, and poor quality of life common in even certified organic store-bought meat.
